Movie Retriever's The 50 Best Films of the 2000s
Favs/dislikes: 5:0. Looking over films of the past decade (a list that was once up to 100 but needed to be trimmed for everyone's sake), we realized that something else is clearly important to us – filmmakers with personality. No one makes films quite like Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Charlie Kaufman, Baz Luhrmann, Spike Lee, Guillermo del Toro, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Christopher Nolan, David Cronenberg, or Pixar. The movies produced by these sublime filmmakers are the products of people who don't just “make movies.” Each one puts their personal stamp on their work, something we clearly value in the art form that we love. Shouldn't all great art reflect not just a studio voice but the personality of the people who make it? Upon reflection, it’s clear films of the 2000s definitely reflected the personalities of the decade's best filmmakers. So, without further ado…. -

Favs/dislikes: 1:0. Ambitionen er at alle film fra podcasten Moviebox' videoaftener skal være her. Filmene ligger i rækkefølge efter episoderne på hjemmesiden, så kronologien er ikke nødvendigvis 100%. Dog skulle alle tre film fra hver filmaften gerne befinde sig sammen. -

Favs/dislikes: 10:0. Moviedrome was a BBC series in which films were introduced before being shown on TV. It was a cult series that showed cult films. Thanks must go to the website where I found the list kurtodrome.net - I haven't seen a lot of these films but I do remember the programme, although I was a little young to stay up and watch the films! -

Moviedrome was a series of cult files shown by the BBC with a short introduction from Alex Cox (or Mark Cousins in later years) beforehand that explained why it was important or interesting. There's a list of all the films shown in Moviedrome here http://www.kurtodrome.net/moviedrome.htm and I thought it would be nice to have a version of that list here to keep track of how many I've ssen. -
