Best of Finnish cinema
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. Updated after 8½ years on March 2022! This list is intended to be a consensus of best ever Finnish films. Points have been attributed for all films as follows: +1 for each ICM official list the movie is on, for being in the Finnish version of the 1001 Movies Before You Die list, for having won a Jussi award for best film, for having a score of at least 7.0/10.0 in IMDb (and 50+ votes), for being on Sakari Toiviainen's list of best Finnish films or finally for being on Helsingin Sanomat list of best Finnish films. The Yle list is nowadays an official list and therefore it is already counted with the official lists. Films that gathered at least two points are included on this list. -

Best Steampunk Movies Of All-Time (Cinema Dailies) + more (near ultimate list)
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. meta list but very low effort so much i had to fix their errors (Gentlemen is on most lists tied but didnt make top 10 according to their count). still, useful. tie at the top broken by film quality. but both are not great cinema. also all of the PTP list + Letterboxd list (Ultimate) + Awesome Independent Steampunk from IMDb is here as well and the steampunk anime list(s). so more of an all-steampunk list (with some clockpunk and a lot of debateable inclusions) bar including IMDb keyword list. movies that are on at least 2 of the included lists: top 53, ranked by number of lists. the top 2 films are on 17 lists out of possible 28 dieselpunk & clockpunk movies are also winding up here. added separate lists of em. -
Best Texas Films
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. This list is inspired by the article "No Country for Bad Movies" from the June, 2011 issue of Texas Monthly. Their panel was limited by criteria such as no documentaries, nothing made-for-TV, and each film "had to really feel as if it could only have been made in Texas". Their official results comprise listings 1-10 below, in no particular order. Everything after #10 is an at-large selection made by me based on looser guidelines, namely anything partially set in or partially filmed in Texas. -

BFI's 90 great films of the 1990s
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. One decade. 90 films. One film per director. How do you even begin to choose just 90 films to represent an entire decade of cinema? That’s the question we’ve been asking ourselves ever since BFI Southbank announced its two-month retrospective, Nineties: Young Cinema Rebels. With the season casting a very specific eye on the new voices that emerged between 1989 and 1999, we thought we’d cast our net a little wider, in a squabble-inducing attempt to shine a light on some of the very best films the decade produced. There’s no scientific method applied to the selection process here, and this isn’t a Sight & Sound poll involving hundreds of critics or filmmakers. It’s more a chance for us to highlight some of our favourite films from around the world. This list of 90s greats could very easily have been at least double the size (in early drafts it was), but with only 90 spots available, some favourites – both ours and yours – are bound to be missing, the hope being that any frustration at omissions will be juxtaposed with a few new discoveries. To keep things as varied as possible, we’ve allowed for only one film per director – in itself leading to some impossible choices. Take the ranking with as little or large a pinch of salt as you see fit; every film on this list is terrific as far as we’re concerned, and these things are always going to be subjective, with any and all grievances or nods of approval welcome. -

Bleacher Report.com's The 100 Greatest Sports Movies of All Time
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. Is there anything a sports fan loves more than a good sports movie? Judging by the staggering amount of them out there, I'm inclined to say no. If you think about it, sports movies aren't even fair. We already love sports, so we're halfway there before the movie even starts. Throw us a good story and we're ready to go for the ride. A good sports movie can make you sit on the edge of your seat, laugh, or even cry. But most of all, a good sports movie makes you care. I've compiled the best comedies, dramas, family films, action movies, and documentaries to make up the list of The 100 Greatest Sports Movies of All Time. Let the debate begin. -
Bleeding Skull 50: The Best Something Weird Horror Films
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. "In Midnight Movies, authors J. Hoberman and Jonathan Rosenbaum describe underground movies as “redolent of danger, secrecy, subversion, resistance, and liberation; not to mention perversity, alienation, and even madness.” They didn’t know it, but they were also defining Something Weird." -

Bored Panda's 100 Of The Weirdest Movies Of All Time
Favs/dislikes: 3:0. May 2022 Saimonas Lukošius and Justė Kairytė - Barkauskienė Is the titillation of Hollywood production beyond you? No longer interested in just some basic European cinema? Looking for something new, unexplored, and uncharted? Well, then you are exactly in the right place, for we’ve rounded up the weirdest movies of all time that will check each of the boxes of good old kooky surrealist cinema. We’ve already made a list dedicated to freaky movies, but weird movies fall into an entirely different category. If the freaky ones are often gory or violent, then these kooky gems will most definitely mess with your head, your eyes, or your perception of reality. These unique movies often rely on visual metaphors or hidden meanings, so they are also quite a heavy watch in their own right. No, they most likely will not make you cringe or cover your eyes, but they will nonetheless shake you to your core. And how could they not when you have such grand movies as The Holy Mountain and Inland Empire right at the top with less-known glorious black humor absurdities like Conspirators Of Pleasure or Sweet Movie a bit further down? I think we can agree that this selection will cater to the needs of even the most accomplished cinephile, and if it doesn’t - then add in the unique movies we’ve missed, would you? So, the weirdest movies of all time are just a smidgen down below, as always. Vote for the surrealist films that tickled your fancy, and share this article with all the cinema connoisseurs that you know! -
