I would argue that Desperately Seeking Susan and Blue Velvet are far more influential and era-defining than Earth Girls Are Easy, Fletch, *batteries not included or Clue.

Michael Jackson's Thriller is a much better and more essential representation of the era than the same director's ¡Three Amigos!

I'll also mention Repo Man, The Decline of Western Civilization, Paris, Texas, Der Himmel über Berlin/Wings of Desire, Diva, Brazil, Escape from New York, The Hunger, Manhunter, Scanners, Videodrome, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Something Wild, After Hours, Stranger Than Paradise, The Killer, Police Story, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Style Wars, Breakin', and the Beastie Boys.

Finally, I'll suggest that for an '80s list which doesn't include The Princess Bride or A Christmas Story, perhaps it is too redundantly heavy on the "family entertainment." Short Circuit AND *batteries not included? The Goonies AND Explorers? (Were you a child in the '80s, by any chance?)
