  3. Art Theatre Guild of Japan (ATG)'s icon

Art Theatre Guild of Japan (ATG)

Favs/dislikes: 16:0. Art Theatre Guild (ATG) was a film production company in Japan that started in 1961 and ran through to the mid-1980s, releasing mostly Japanese New Wave films. ATG began as an independent agency which distributed foreign films in Japan. With the decline of the major Japanese film studios in the 1960s, an "art house" cinema group formed around ATG and the company moved into distributing Japanese works rejected by the major studios. By 1967 ATG was assisting with production costs for a number of new Japanese films. Vinegar Syndrome Slipcovers, Hardcovers, Lenticulars and Boxsets

Favs/dislikes: 1:0. All titles released by Vinegar Syndrome that have exclusive collectible slipcovers, splitcovers, hardcovers and box sets. Vinegar Syndrome's covers prioritize original poster designs, but also frequently utilize specially made covers by artists and graphic designers. A title is given this special treatment as a result of popular demand or a desire to give an underrated film greater exposure than it would have received otherwise.

    Ealing Comedies

Favs/dislikes: 12:0. The Ealing Comedies were a series of film comedies produced by Ealing Studios during the period 1947 to 1957. Hue and Cry (1947) is generally considered to be the earliest of the cycle, and Barnacle Bill (1957) the last, although some sources list Davy (1958) as the final Ealing Comedy. Despite their synonymous association with Ealing Studios the films constituted up only a tenth of the films produced by the company.

  16. Films based on Marvel Comics publications's icon

Films based on Marvel Comics publications

Favs/dislikes: 2:0. Marvel Comics is a publisher of American comic books and related media. It counts among its characters such well-known superheroes as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Daredevil, and Deadpool, and such teams as the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Most of Marvel's fictional characters are depicted as occupying a shared fictional universe, most locations mirroring real-life places. Many major characters are based in New York City. Film adaptations based on Marvel Comics properties have included theatrically released film serials, live action and animated feature films, direct-to-video releases, and television films.
  17. Troma's World Famous Coming Distractions's icon

    Troma's World Famous Coming Distractions

Favs/dislikes: 0:0. This entertaining collection of 70-plus theatrical trailers for movies produced by Troma — a studio synonymous with gratuitous nudity, outrageously campy horror and more — assembles previews of such cinematic masterpieces as The Toxic Avenger. Additional trailers include Bloodsucking Freaks, Class of Nuke’ Em High and Sgt. Kabukiman, N.Y.P.D. which features the famous exploding blue car used in countless subsequent productions! I consider this a collection of "the best of Troma" - though only missing Poultrygeist (which came out after this DVD) as far as mainstream produced Troma films (rather than just a lengthy list of films they distributed). The following short films are Missing from IMDB: Radiation March Soul of Troma Seeing Red Rashomoron Troma Dance Luna Chics The Torture King The Ultimate Tromette: Tiffany Who Killed Toxie?
  18. Blue Sky Studios films's icon

    Blue Sky Studios films

Favs/dislikes: 2:0. Every feature-length film produced by Blue Sky Studios.
  19. Les Blank Films's icon

    Les Blank Films

Favs/dislikes: 0:0. This list has two sections. The first 43 titles are directed or co-directed by the late documentary filmmaker Les Blank (1935-2013). The remaining films are directed by his colleagues and are all featured on http://lesblank.com. Perhaps they're available on DVD through the site -- I'm not sure. Quite a few of these films are streamable via Kanopy and (for a price) Vimeo. This is a work in progress, because about 35 of the films don't even have IMDb pages. So I can't add them to ICM until/unless I create IMDb pages for them first. Not on IMDb: A Journey to the Butterflies (Bruce Pacho Lane) A Skirt Full of Butterflies (Maureen Gosling) Bamako Chic (Maureen Gosling) Carrousel Menagerie (Bruce Pacho Lane) Cheyanne Schatz (Pieter Van Deusen and Leah Miller) Cumbre Tajín (Bruce Pacho Lane) Down an Old Road (Chris Simon) Folktale From Two Lands (Pieter Van Deusen and Leah Miller) Friends (Pieter Van Deusen and Leah Miller) Homegrown Bounty (Gina Leibrecht) I Hear What You See (Chris Simon) Jaber (Alan Govenar) Little Willie Eason and His Talking Gospel Guitar (Alan Govenar) Mezcal (Bruce Pacho Lane) My Canyonlands (Chris Simon) Narco-Mania!
