Movies to Fight About
Favs/dislikes: 6:0. Do you like to disagree with others about whether a given movie is good or bad? Then I have just the list for you! Assuming the relationship between favorites, dislikes and checks reflects the chances of people in the general population to love or hate a movie, these movies are the ones you'll most likely find yourself arguing the merit of with someone else who has seen them. Have fun with that! Here's the formula: (favorites * dislikes) / (checks^2), considering only movies with at least 100 checks -
Discussable Movies
Favs/dislikes: 2:0. If you want to have something to talk about with a friend, watch one of these movies together and you should be set for conversation for a while. I didn't select each of these movies individually; rather, I used a stupidly complicated "discussability" formula that I devised to generate this list. The formula is surely imperfect, but I'm happy with it at the present time. -
Wu-Tang Movie Samples
Favs/dislikes: 0:0. A list of all the martial arts movies sampled by the Wu-Tang Clan. Unfinished -
Time Out's 25 Best Shakespeare-To-Screen Adaptations
Favs/dislikes: 11:0. It would seem a no-brainer: Combine the world's most revered dramatist with today's most popular medium. Alas, translating the Bard to the big screen has proved trickier than anyone ever thought. In ranking the 25 most successful attempts, TONY tapped its Film and Theater experts. Their only ground rule: No plots about the playwright himself would be eligible. (Sorry, Shakespeare in Love fans). But any adaptations of the plays themselves, loose or faithful, were fair game. So if top-25 lists be the food of love, read on. -
Robert Altman Feature Films

Great Dialogue
Favs/dislikes: 1:0. Anytime a movie wows me with dialogue, it goes here. Sometimes it's just a scene or two, sometimes the whole shebang. Screwball comedies to film noirs and anything in between. Added as I remember/watch them, unordered. -

Favs/dislikes: 9:0. "Lost in a maze of movies and can't decide which to watch? Whatever you look for in a movie - action-packed adventure, spine-tingling suspense, sophisticated romance, realistic drama, side-splitting comedy, a look at life in another land or era - Rating the Movies will help you choose the very best. This reliable source of information summarizes and rates over 3900 films [actually it doesn't; there are 3895 entries in total]. Each review includes key information on leading performers, directors, running time, year of release, videotape and Closed-Captioned availability, MPAA rating, and Academy Awards and nominations. Rating the Movies is updated, to include the very latest important films - Dick Tracy, Total Recall, Driving Miss Daisy, Born on the Fourth of July, Back to the Future Part III, Die Hard 2: Die Harder, Pretty Woman, and many more. Of course, all the great classics that made movie history are here too, including such colorful swashbucklers as The Adventures of Robin Hood and such sweeping epics as Gone With the Wind. Concert Movies
Favs/dislikes: 7:0. In this list I will try to collect all the concert movies I come across. I'm more than happy to take suggestions by PM or in the comment section. This list is sorted by the year of release. Note: some of these films are not concert recordings. There are some documentaries with scenes from live shows, and some that are tour films. I have gone through all of them manually, but there might be some films listed that don't belong here at all. Please send me a PM or write it in the comments section if you stumble upon any.
