I just wrote a long ass comment about this film, and it disappeared when I clicked 'add comment' so here is a summary
The film is okay, I cried a few times BUT as a Norwegian it is incredibly obvious that the film is written and directed by a non-Norwegian, leaving out the most important part of the whole thing: the reaction of the people, the rose march, the songs and the poetry, the sea of flowers, the speeches of the king and the prime minister, the people responding with love against Breivik's hatred.
My main problems tho:
People speaking English, ruined the performances
Poorly written dialogues
Hilarious americanisation - for example, the prime minister's coworkers calling him 'Sir'. I'm 99% certain the people who worked with him everyday just called him Jens.
Conclusion: The film is watchable, certain times even good, but clearly not made for a Norwegian audience. 4 years 8 months ago -

Interesting as a companion piece, but I really prefer Utoya 22.Juli. 5 years 5 months ago -

Not a Netflix and chill type movie. Depressing and deeply emotional.
The attack at the beginning is a stellar piece of filmmaking though.
