There are many positive things I could say about this movie, including the incredible use of colors to express emotions and set different moods, or the noticeable attention to every single detail throughout the entire film. However, my favorite thing has to be the soundtrack... simply stunning.
I love Ford's attention to details. The light and colours are stunning, and he captures the feeling of loosing someone in a perfect way. One of my favorites. It should be in one of the future movielists.
This is one of those rare films that you're in complete awe from after watching and want to immediately call it your favorite.
Knowing that the director's - Tom Ford's - main profession isn't even directing or anything to deal with the film industry is absolutely astounding. And as it's so easy to be talented in one field of art (in this case fashion) and be a complete failure in another, Tom Ford surprised us all with one of the best well-made films I've ever seen. Everything down to the acting, script, music, and especially cinematography, completely stole my breath away. Lovely, and a beautiful adaptation of a wonderful novel.
