Personally, I thought it was better than the first. That's not a criticism of The Thin Man, just I thought this mystery was trickier, the humour was funnier, and the balance of the two was better handled.
Also, more Asta -- hurrah!
Such pleasures! The witty William Powell, the beautiful Myrna Loy, and the wonderful James Stewart in a youthful, breakthrough role. The plot is tricky and fascinating; the characters, engaging as always; the humor, infectious. What a wonderful ride!
Not quite as good as the first one, but still good.
