We're made to believe that there were terrorists in Iraq before the US invasion. Good fairy fake.

Good but not great Clint Eastwood War drama that simply doesn't feel like an Eastwood movie. It's not Pro or Anti war movie but a straight forward telling of the life at war and at home of a very lethal sniper. Ok movie but felt distant and a bit cold.

Siena Miller's character is kind of a complete bitch in this movie. I wanted to feel for the military wife story line, but she was just such an unlikable character throughout the whole movie.

It's really sad to see how legit some Americans think they are to raid other countries... They'll have to pay for it in this world or the next...

A lot of people are criticizing this movie because of the pro-war, typical american ideologies. I don't think that makes it a bad movie. I'm definitely against war, but Chis Kyle wasn't and his story is very interesting. If Clint Eastwood would have approached his story from a different perspective, i think it would have been less genuine.

There are people with different ideals, so suck it up.

Furthermore, even the pro-war aspects in this movie weren't nearly as bad as i thought they would be. It is true that the islamic people aren't very likable in this movie, but it's not about the ethics of war, or the islamic beliefs, but about Chris Kyle, and shit like this happened and is still happening. I have never once in this movie felt like Clint Eastwood was purposely trying to make the islam look bad. If you aren't easily influenced or offended, you should be able to enjoy it.

Have you ever seen a film that you knew you would dislike, but were honestly surprised by how horrible it actually is?

A film doesn't need to be entirely subtle, but Eastwood seems to be unable to tell this story without shouting and underlining every damn thing. An unfaithful girlfriend yells “I do this for attention, don’t you get it!?” immediately after being caught. Eastwood zooms in on Kyle’s furious face while watching footage of the 9/11 attacks on television and later does the same with his wife while she sees news reports about the war while expressing concern for his safety.

I have never liked Eastwood as a director. His films are so bland and lifeless, without any passion whatsoever. It never feels like he cares. His films feel so very drained.

This script is truly abysmal.

I did not want to finish it, but I simply had to. Despising a movie called American Sniper is expected of me. I watched it from beginning to end and now feel completely horrible.

Chris Kyle is easily one of the least likable characters in film history. He’s a total scumbag and not an interesting one. He was a mass murderer. Not a hero. Bradley Cooper is a fantastic actor and not even he can make this man interesting in any way. The man is evil.

It may not be quite as “AMERICA FUCK YEAH!” as it could have been, but the film’s complete ineptitude as a character study is embarrassing. You can feel Cooper trying to make him as complex as possible, but there's just nothing there.

The action scenes couldn't be any duller. The cinematography is yawn-inducing. The score is terrible. There is nothing of merit here.

My soul felt absolutely filthy while watching this.
