Still, after being mesmerized by the first 30 minutes I also wished for some more plot to cling to during the mid of the movie. But it's humble and beautiful at it, no doubt, and I decided to just let it pass on.
I'd have to disagree with TrollMovies concerning the camerawork - you could take many great looking screenshots from Bal. Although for some viewers, it might be more rewarding to look at the best compositions than to sit through 100 minutes of slowness, I'll grant that.
This movie is breathtaking and excruciatingly slow-paced. Don't expect any narrative or action, but just be awed by the amazing compositions and the superb acting.
Unfortunately, I failed to find any redeeming qualities. There's no story, no suspense, no intriguing characters, no music (!!) or interesting camerawork, no emotional attachment (maybe that's just me), no personal or ethic point of view I could decipher, only nothingness.
I was surprised though that such green landscapes and thick forests existed in Turkey

Beautiful film. Very quiet.Still, after being mesmerized by the first 30 minutes I also wished for some more plot to cling to during the mid of the movie. But it's humble and beautiful at it, no doubt, and I decided to just let it pass on.

Excruciatingly slow-paced, that nailed it.Unfortunately, I failed to find any redeeming qualities.
