For mer, it could've been on of the bests of 2012 if it weren't for the boring first half.
Some points I liked:
- Liam Neeson
- Rihanna, oh god, surprisingly!
- When they actually played "Battleship", very cool indeed
- When they activated the jurassic battleship
- Eye-candy Taylor Kitsch
Some points I disliked:
- Killing Alexander Skarsgard
- Utterly boring first half
- Too much sci-fi, involving aliens and stuff
I was just curious what this movie was about.
So I went in quite blank and I was comfortably supprised to see Liam Neeson.
Although this is not the best movie ever, I very much liked it. There are not a lot of movies that keep stuck in my mind, being amazed that such a movie is possible, based on that game (I noticed that in the end). Maybe that is just why I like this one.
I didn't see the trailer. Just hoped for the best.
And for anyone who will watch a movie in the near future, staring the US warmachine: It Will Be Filled With Propaganda.
You have to see through that, luckily it wasn't like the romantic drama "Pearl Harbour" (the best beat-up the US ever had undertaken, presented by some kissing youngsters). Never watched that one.
Would I recommend this one: YES. absolutely. This one is going to be as classic. Mark my words.
The first 25 / 30 minutes were terrible. The last 25 / 30 minutes were terrible. Everything in between that was cliched and predictable*** with a shameful amount of corporate plugging - but apart from that! ...no no I can't do it, this movie was complete bollocks. And Taylor Kitsch is a truly dreadful actor.

This movie is total, epic, absolute, retardation and extreeeemly (yes, with 4 e:s) unrealistic.
The amount of propaganda and commercials is just fucked up.
A good word to describe this movie: stupid; now while it wasn't the worst I've seen, It has a slow beginning, the fighting scenes were dragged out to long, and it got more unrealistic as the movie went on, and for a sci-fi to be unrealistic, that's pretty bad.
