Sean Pertwee leads some squadies into the Scottish wilderness where they find themselves under siege by a pack of werewolves in Dog Soldiers and it's pretty fun. I could definitely use better fight choreography/editing, but it still has a lot of cool gags and doesn't mind getting a bit ridiculous. Werewolf make-ups often are, you know, so might as well go with it. Mostly, it works because I like the cast of characters, despite the apparently sameness that results in army typecasting. There's something odd about the film grain, like they're trying to make it feel like 70s grindhouse, but you know it's the early 2000s because of that one amusing Matrix joke. At least, *I* liked it and that's no bone (am I using that right?).
I actually really enjoyed this film. Great plot and funny dialogue makes it fast paced and fun. I don't think the acting was too bad at all and the filmmakers were able to work around the lack of amazing special effects. A good fun movie overall that I would recommend as part of anybody's horror movie marathon.
This Scottish film is the perfect realization of the line from Shakespeare’s Scottish play in being, “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

This movie is great. The use of traditional special effects is really refreshing to see.Darkness_prevails

Loved everything about it, even the somewhat campy werewolves. Dunno how some could find it boring at all.Cippenham

This is a funny no brainer to watch! We finished it...cday130
Plot was good but cringe worthy acting and abysmal special effects drag it down. No idea how it's rated 6.8 on IMDb.thestuman101694

Boring movie. Too length for its concept.
