I have seen three film adaptations of this story (two are on the 500<400 list). A good film, but the modified ending of this version weakens the impact.
By the way, why is this film in "Top Spanish films" list?
OK, this one is a collaborative product of Switzerland, West Germany and Spain. But the language is German and Italian in film. Story developes in Switzerland.
I think Director Ladislao Vajda made this movie after he moved to Spain. That's why it's accepted as a spanish movie.
Am I right?
