@ alexbergmans, In the commentary track on The Films of Kenneth Anger, Vol. 1, he says that several things were based on a dream he had when he was 17. He was 19 or 20 when this was released back in 1947.
Keep in mind Anger was a teenager when he made this.
Yeah, and all these puns were made by mistake? I don'T think so. Anger was well aware of what he was doing.
