I've seen it somewhere that if you replace the cat with love it makes a lot of sense, by the end of the movie that's the only thing that connects them all, well, at least most of them. Can't explain why but this movie feels like a 5:00 am foggy morning when its not dark anymore but still not day yet, maybe it's the feeling of nostalgia throughout it's entirety, or how beautifully and sad it portrays the inevitability of growing apart and getting old. Definitely my favorite piece of Korean indie films, it can be cheesy at times but i can't recommend it enough.
