6+/10
SVT Play.
Wow! 14 top lists. I guess good in its time. But for me too slow. Wining violin music almost all the time. But good dialogues in interesting subjects if you listen closely.

depressing pictures, depressing music, depressing conversations, somewhat beautiful all in all.

I believe this film alongside Bergman's Winter Light, Buñuel's Nazarín and Malick's A Hidden Life are the best representations of true religion on film.

A glorious wonderful film, deeply felt and wonderfully directed and acted. This film is the best document I know of how cinema can be great and truly heart-felt, and at the same time reflective of the inner lives of normal people. This film could be taken as an indictment of most of American Cinema, the cinema of super heroes and tawdry vulgarisms. And should be.

Beautiful movie. Somewhere in there, I'm sure there is a deeper message that I missed but the message I did get was wonderful. Grace, God's love, and desperate honesty are essential to a fulfilled life.
