Zzzzz, what a thoroughly uninteresting film. "Silent Faces in Unforeseen Places" would have been a much more apt title, except it would spoil about 90% of the story.

Also, for a film of its kind, the lighting was astoundingly dull and bland.

So many people say this is sooo much scarier than the american remake, but i have to disagree. I didn't find it scary at all actually. Maybe because i already knew what to expect?

It's even downright confusing at times. So many characters! There were plenty of times i couldn't really follow who i was watching, because nearly all of them look the same! (yea, i'm a westerner) And there's the thing with the timeline. First we see the balding, retired cop with his 7 year old-ish daughter and then some time later Izumi is already going to high school?! And i'd say they're not too far apart, because the lady from the wellfare company was on tv.

Anyway, maybe i missed a few (key) things because subs didn't translate them, but i'd say the story is a mess.

Some decent atmosphere but I still found myself laughing through most of this.

Can't believe this isn't on any list, too. Especially the partly ridiculously stuffed 500-list.

I rarely get scared when I watch movies but this one definitely creeped me out.
