Interesting crime drama with great performances but I agree with reviewer: lachyas. Movie covers too much ground and feels a bit chopped up at times. With a more tighter and fluent editing of the story, movie would be stronger.

Solid French gangster flick. Cassel delivers a powerhouse performance and the cinematography is very slick indeed. It feels like a highlight reel of someone's life, which is both good and bad: it means that the film moves at a breakneck pace, but it also means that there's very little continuity between scenes and the whole thing feels a little unconnected and haphazardly thrown together. I can't believe I'm saying this, because I usually find narration superfluous, but this really could have used a voiceover to tie everything together. All in all though I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to watching part two.
