Liked it until the third act when 'hysterical propaganda piece' feels more like an understatement than anything. And yet, is it just a reflection of hysterical times when HUAC and McCarthy lead the hunt for communist spies and fifth columnists.
Still, it's sad to see the filmmakers give in to such sentiments, as understandable as that might have been in those days, rather than speak out against them.
Then again, people weren't so naive, even back then, and could have just as easily carried away a different view. Wish I could say I agreed with the latter more than the former. However, it's a grand look at McCarthyism in all its gory glory.
