Yep, as Roy Andersson as it gets. Very theater-like settings and execution, complete with a (somewhat unnecessary) narrator voice and of course only static shots. Everything looks greyish to a surreal extent, people pale like zombies, often in miserable or just absurd situations - depressing scenarios. And despite - or because? - of that, there's some kind of absurd, sometimes solacing humor in everything of it, maybe even hope. And doesn't that sound like life itself?

Not Roy's best film, but if you enjoyed his last 3 works (in 2 decades..), you're going to recognize a lot and have "fun" with it.
Some artist's B-sides will always be still more interesting than the main output from others. And at 75 minutes, Oändliga clocks in like an EP .. of a film.

7/10
Roy Andersson's latest. Simple, dramatic, slow, comical, concise, beautiful, meticulously planned, eye for detail & ingenious.
I do not know why he often uses old 1950s / 60s environments, but it works really well and I love it!
