I found it quite boring, a definite step down to the previous 3 and especially Curse of the Black Pearl. Where were the ship fights and better choreographed and more action packed fighting scenes? Where was the supporting cast...Barbossa alone will not cut it and I feel Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly not being in the films is going to affect it dramatically. All in all, I do not feel this director was the correct choice for the film, a wrong direction for the franchise and hopefully it's course will be changed with the next one.

To me, it feels like a fan fiction contrived by a 13 year old girl.

"Oh and in this movie there are mermaids!"
Mermaids?
"Yeah, and like, they have like these teeth and can fly around, they're kinda like vampires!! XDD"
Wait...why?
"Oh and there's like a priest who falls in love, he looks just like Will Turner, and never wears a shirt."
He falls in love with who?
"A mermaid"
Uhm...how?
"She grows legs when she meets someone who is different. They are perfect for each other"
Okay, what about Jack? Isn't he more important?
"Of course! He gets to eat a fancy danish (my danish XD) and fight Penelope Cruz. But they hate each other and fight all the time. They don't know it yet but they will be married!!! I'm so excitedd :DD"

Meh, not like the other three. I dunno, Capt. Jack Sparrow without Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann seems a bit less charming.

Really, this whole series is pretty cheasy, although the first movie was great. I enjoyed this one almost as much as the second and third. The action choreographer was definitely off the mark, and Jack didn't have very good characters to bounce one-liners off, but the story was compelling enough by the end to keep me interested. Very watchable.
