I can't quite articulate why I didn't like this movie, as it was well done. Most of the actors were great, especially Yukie Nakama as Sadako. The story was pretty tight, and coherent for the most part.
Perhaps I didn't like it because of the whole spoiler

. Maybe it was because spoiler

, and that spoiler

. Or maybe it's because I didn't feel that the combination of romance/drama and horror balanced well together. I don't know.

What I do know is that scene with spoiler

was bloody marvelous. Creepy, yet moving. If the whole movie was similar to that, then I would've loved it.

If you're not interested in watching the movie, especially after reading what I wrote, then at least watch from when spoiler

until after the scene with spoiler

. It really was great.
