It’s a sentimental movie, to be sure, though with a darker turn or two than you’re expecting. It’s also a little long. Yet “Mr. Long” has art-house potential, because it’s genuinely touching, has an amazing storyline and combines comedy, drama and action in a way, which western audiences are still not accustomed to and thus makes this movie quite unique.
It was amazing to see a theatre at the Berlinale filled with about 1.000 people experiencing this emotional rollercoaster and being only too grateful to follow this visual masterpiece. 7 years 2 months ago
