i found it terrible and so candid... the hero is literally fleeing the whole movie and then fight for like 2 minutes

Wish DC would make more films like Captain Marvel and Deadpool. A nice, none tradition superhero movie.

The good Captain Marvel film isn't a Marvel property!

Also, their reaction when they tried beer for the first time, was the same as mine!

Wonderful humor, even though the film company directed the film mainly towards the teenage cinema audience. This with a teenager in an adult's body has been tried several times before. And it works, it's fun.
Would be great to see this DC comic superhero mingle with the rest of the Justice League. ;P

I think the point was to make a lighter, almost goofy superhero flick while being a radical departure from the dark and gloomy DCEU and I think they met the goal pretty well. Mark Strong has the capability to play a good villain and he does what he can with the role but could have had some more depth to the character... ok, a lot more depth. Love how it takes place in my city of Philly and includes a lot of the city's flavor and references, I haven't really seen superheroes in Philly since back when M. Night Shyamalan was a popular guy.

For a lighthearted kids wish fulfillment superhero movie, there is way too much casual murder going on.

Shazam! v. Captain Marvel was an intellectual property lawsuit between DC & Marvel some time ago, hence the separation between these names.

Shazam! is the OTHER Captain Marvel movie, and it's hard to discuss it without blowing some of its surprises considering they are the things that made me smile and put the film over the top for me. What the trailers revealed was largely concerned with the character's origin story, and that lasts quite a while. Even if I hadn't seen the trailers, prior comic book knowledge would have have still made those sequences a little tedious for me. For an old longbox dog like me, there are a couple of satisfying deep cuts peppered throughout, but the fun really kicks into high gear in the third act, right on through to a funny animated end credit sequence. It ended on a great note and I came out of the theater happy. I did take its time striking the right tone, Sivana's murders rather intense compared to the rest of the movie, but things were enlivened by the Christmas atmosphere and the nice idea that, by now, people know about superheroes and react to them appropriately. So it's a winner with genuine heart and some punch-the-air moments in addition to the advertised action and humor. But it does make my blood boil that DC can't/won't call the character Captain Marvel even if I understand why; it's kind of a joke in the film, but it can't be sustained forever.

Really not good. A lot of the humour was awkward and badly written. Very cliche story but nothing uniquely charming to make it work.

One of the strangest moments was that man dressed as Santa shouting, 'oh no!.......run!'

I'm outnumbered but really didn't like it. Cliche story, OVERLONG, predictable and overall boring. Cast is good though
