Started off pretty awesome but as the series went on it started to forget about Sherlock actually solving some cases and just started to solely focus on the mythology of the series which made the show not really feel like Sherlock anymore.

Brilliant adaptations. Captures the spirit and humor of the novels exceptionally well.

Nice twist on the Sherlock Holmes storyline by bringing it up to present day.

These writers did a much better job of killing Sherlock the TV series than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle did of killing Sherlock the Consultant Detective. The glaring plot holes and general ridiculousness of the final season and particularly the final episode are so appalling that you genuinely don't want to watch any more. I just rewatched the last season for the first time since it first aired, and even coming into it with less than zero expectations I was still disappointed. But it's a very clever way of making sure the fans stop pestering them for more episodes.

Sorry. Absolutely adore the show, but, yeah, that's exactly what it is.

Basically a Dexter rip-off, and Holmes is surprisingly stupid and slow in solving the mysteries. (My wife was usually shouting the answer from the couch before he was even close). Martin Freeman's good, though.
