Liked it a lot. It's not as hilarious as they keep describing it but it's sweet and has its funny moments. If you just don't expect one of the best comedies you've ever seen, then you'll probably be able to enjoy it.
Cute story, nice characters, wonderful actors. James McAvoy was amazing as always... Benedict Cumberbatch really did bring some fun to the story with the lovely portrayal of his character... and I loved many of the actors in smaller supporting roles as well, e.g. Charles Dance. Good job.
EDIT: Just watched it again - Benedict Cumberbatch really IS hilarious :) wonderful performance!

Stellar cast but pretty average movie. The book is far superior in every way.
Also, James' 'Essex' accent :D :D :D

Not super interesting. I don't think you can call a movie with two funny scenes a comedy either.DerekFME
Astonishing bit of musical anachronism - playing the Cure's Pictures of You which didn't come out until 1990! (The film's set in 1985)Overall I felt the film decidedly inconsequential and had a terribly soggy middle part.
