Yes, it's cheesy. But also quite entertaining. Plays like an episode of the Twilight Zone.fetzu

The original to me was just groundbreaking!! And you should take my word for it because i watched the remake before this one!!! I appreciate the ingenuity of the director for the time. Hell, even now, the story would still not only be relevant, but be completely awesome! Obviously the only downside is the weird 1950s conversation style and acting, accompanied by the visual effects. All in all, it's quite disappointing to know that they didn't even try in the remake. It was just an exact replica of this masterpiece.5 Stars from me!! :) :) :) :) :)

The extraterrestrials doesn't seem so threatening in this one, but it's definitely much better than the remake! This was the first famous outer space citizens movie!Scratch47
Widely held as the best example of 1950s, slightly dated and cheesy but intellectually riveting sci-fi. The essence held in this has influenced hundreds of films.Froznic
Pretty good movie, like Flak said, the ending kinda leaves you .. wanting a little more! The new one is almost an exact replica as well, although I liked the old one for it's attempt at uniqueness for the era.The Last Baron
I really enjoyed this but the ending gives me some mixed feelings.sammysin

It wasn't what I was expecting as far as the story goes (cuz they always advertize the robot coming out of the spaceship and little else), but it was excellent. Very, very convincing, especially for 1951. I think I may have a thing for Pamela Neal now. A lovely surprise all around.Groovy09
Entertaining and thought-provoking. It's one of those 50's sci-fi films that has really stood the test of time and having a simple, yet effective message that is well delivered and still relevant to this day.If you're a sci-fi fan, you owe it to yourself to watch this brilliant little classic.

Brilliant, cant belive ive only just watched it, tied with the original invasion of the body snatchers as my fave sci-fi'sTheBanana
I was blown away. Its simplicity and perfection to detail makes it one of the most realistic sci-fi's ever made.Showing items 1 – 15 of 17
