Tough, violent, harsh film about how fucking terrible British Imperialism was to both Australia and the world. People seem to dislike things that force them to deal with the fact that this is what the vast majority of British white people did for centuries.

Edit: Film has really stuck with me and reminds me a lot of Peter Weir's early work in the best ways.

I'm very conflicted right now as I mark this movie as a favorite. The movie is so well made that it certainly qualifies in that regard but it was such a difficult watch that I can't see myself revisiting it anytime soon. Very powerful film.

Be warned, this is a grim grim film. Not since Dancer in the Dark have I seen something this difficult to watch. Its very well made and the acting is convincing. Hard to stop thinking about it, as much as I'd like to.

A grim, impressive film, but I felt depressed by all the violence and rape during its 2:15 hours. You need to watch this - and want to not watch it again afterwards.

Impeccable acting, powerful direction. A gripping watch, but ugly, ugly, ugly stuff

Why specifically only British white people? Plenty of other nation's had empires if I recall correctly.

Terrible.

12 Years A Slave at least made me care about the characters as it punished my feelings. This was garbage.
