Rejected by Columbia Pictures executives in 1970. It failed to find a distributor because no one found it funny. It sat on the shelf for 20 years until Mr. Roemer submitted it to the New York Film Festival in 1989. It was accepted there, and subsequently released theatrically, to rave reviews.jlfitz
