Fester the Sloth
Being an Australian, it's nice to see a well executed film set in some of Australia's darker years. Though the extreme racism definitely has faded, the racism against Aboriginal people is still present. It saddens me to live in a world full of so much stupidity and hatred.
David Gulpilil (The Tracker), was awesome in this. Rolf de Heer gives the audience hope by showcasing the power of one's conscience.
Not quite a favourite (as of now anyway), because it never breaks past a certain level for me artistically or emotionally, but it's a good movie. Worth a watch, especially if you don't know much about the significance of racism in our country's history, or if you're just looking for a good Aussie Western. 11 years 6 months ago -
