This movie tries a little too hard. The humour is a nice touch but gets a bit predictable/tedious towards the end.
Not much of a plot but always nice to see Chris and Tom!

I honestly cannot believe that this movie is being praised by the critics and currently holds a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. To me it is a complete and utter failure, completely missing the tone that a Thor Ragnarock (the Norse Apocalypse) film should have had.
The movie has a lot of potential, the visuals are spectacular and the acting is solid... the real problem are the jokes ruining most scenes of a potentially great flick. To me, Wapiti's Korg character is the Jar Jar Binks of this movie. I'm all for irony and jokes where they fit (Guardians of the Galaxy is absolutely one of my fave MCU movies), but I found them completely out of place 90% of the time in a movie that should have been IMO dark and epic, with a good and fitting opportunity for laughs on the garbage planet Sakaar (some scenes here are absolutely hilarious). For THOR sake, towards the very end of the movie, during an emotionally tense scene like spoiler there really had to be Korg's silly comic relief completely trashing the tone and atmosphere?
A missed/ruined opportunity... seriously hoping that's not the direction the entire franchise is taking.

It has bad pacing problems, especially throughout the beginning, and a bland storyline and script that definitely feels like two disparate storylines smashed together; however, the movie shows promise when Taika Waititi's voice shines through, particularly in the scenes where he conceptualizes Hulk as an overgrown tantrumous child and the ones which include his own character (the most clear depictions of his style of comedy), Korg. Overall not bad, but underwhelming

The best MCU movie and one of the most entertaining and funny comic book movies ever. Hopefully Marvel will keep adapting this kind of humour in their movies in future as well. 4/5.

The Thor movies have never been the MCU's best and Ragnarok is unlikely to change that reputation. While a very different movie to Thor and The Dark World with a space setting and a lighter more humerous tone that will please in the first hour or so it's that tone that's ultimately it's downfall in it's final act. It's there where the tone is all over the place. What should be dramatic moments to the viewer and traumatic events for Thor are completely ruined by the fact that the film doesn't seem to know when to stop joking around and just let the drama play out.

Thor has the new Marvel makeover, and it's epic. Whilst I must admit that I think it falls due to a lack of consistency with the previous films, it's a fantastic performance from Hemsworth and the best one from Ruffalo to date. From the very first scene, I knew we were in for a corker; There's humour and there's kick to this movie. Hela is a typical but watchable villain, her all-black ensemble? not my personal taste, the family feud, however? I can get behind.
