As an average viewer with no expectations going into this; This was a perfectly fine movie to watch for entertainment purposes only. The acting wasn't superb, neither was the storyline, videography or editing (the list goes on), but I wasn't bored (quite the opposite), and at the end, I didn't feel like I wasted time on this.
Yes, this could have achieved way more than it did, but if you watch this without having any expectations, just looking for a cool movie to watch while chilling alone or with friends, go for it, it's entertaining.
Could've been better but honestly it was a perfect movie to just throw on and enjoy for easy viewing. It's good enough that it's entertaining and keeps you interested, but you could have on in the background too and you wouldn't be missing much.
This is one of those films that I find difficult to place. Because it's good, but could easily achieved more. Jonah Hill is a damn good actor, which I hope to see much more of in the future and in different genre. Miles Teller is good, but it's not such a performance to remember for a long time after.
At the Golden Globes, I think Ryan Reynolds wins over Jonah. Unfortunately.
Junkfood. Nothing interesting happens at all. They went for the "average man thrown into a situation way above his head," but we, as the audience, don't feel any sympathy/empathy/anything for these characters. Wasn't a comedy or a drama. I agree with other comment, Jonah Hill's laugh is the highlight.
