Cagney was great. He took the movie to another level.

Definitely a must watch! Cagney's performance is definitely amazing. This is such a fun movie that I got in to immediately. My grandfather would sing "Over There" all the time and this brought back some great memories of him :)

I cut my teeth on many of Cagney's gangster movies so when I found out he could sing and dance as well I was initially skeptical. Cagney can really do it all though, it's a whirlwind of a movie that takes you on a wonderful journey through song and dance. Cagney is downright spectacular, an utter joy to watch. Upon release, I'm sure the picture was even more well received by a nation that had been thrust into WW2 only 6 months earlier by Pearl Harbor.

Cagney is almost always great. Didn't like the movie that much, though.
