Total chick flick about guys and their problems with love, commitment, emotion, and fidelity. As odd as it sounds, it actually works though clearly not for everyone.
The Library of Congress has prints: "viewing print 1 film reel of 1 (ca. 8 min., 288 ft.) : si., b&w ; 16 mm. dupe neg pic 1 film reel of 1 (ca. 8 min., 288 ft.) : si., b&w ; 16 mm. master pos pic 1 film reel of 1 (ca. 8 min., ca. 290 ft.) : si., b&w ; 16 mm. paper pos 1 roll (ca. 720 ft.) : b&w ; 35 mm. paper pos (copy 2) 1 roll (ca. 720 ft.) : b&w ; 35 mm."
I can find no evidence that it has converted to an electronic format and made available through loc.gov.
No other copies are available at a library (via WorldCat).
The only library (in WorldCat) that even lists a copy is the UCLA Film & Television Archive - it is a Spanish language "print" though the record doesn't say positive, negative, or what. I'm not seeing evidence of a copy at the LoC in Film Preservation. It wouldn't come as a surprise if the *only* copy is at UCLA.
Enjoyable documentary which not only shows a bit about China tea but also illustrates the peculiarities of trading with China. Informative and interesting if one enjoys this sort of thing. Bit laconic, cinematography isn't anything special, but definitely does a great job telling us about tea and exporting tea.
To continue along Public Enemy's comment vein: I fell asleep and, upon waking, understood more and missed less during those minutes than the part I watched while awake.
It's hard not to see the film as visually striking. Granted, we are accustomed to bright colors and meaningful placement, but is a Godard film not the apotheosis of visual design in celluloid?
So, they don't have money for the music program but they have money to get the music kids from Boston to Vegas? Oh, then there's all that training but James doesn't seem to get that much trimmer.
Plot holes?
Not sure anyone cares. It was just the most painful feel good movie of 2012. Gee, and I never saw the ending coming.
Just kidding.
Still, like others have said, if you don't go into this with very high expectations, you'll probably enjoy yourself - as long as your not looking for much more than light entertainment with some body checks.
Interesting, and may I say sophisticated, use of stop motion animation with live actors. In addition to other comments, I found the way lighting was used valuable as well.
For example, in the fence-building sequence, notice how the shadow is hidden behind the fence so we aren't aware of the length of time it took to film this sequence. Also, at the end of the film, notice how shadows are now used to show the passage of time.
One of the things I love about short films is the frequent lack of dialog -
here we get the message with no spoken words, the only language needed is on the newspapers but even that is not necessary to the understanding of the film. (The same message could have been communicated with symbols, say "*>&" and "&>*", but what newspaper has a headline like that? Still, many viewers would understand the simple English phrases used.)
Cool short, and yes, the message is a bit of a sledgehammer, but given the early years of the Cold War, can't say that's surprising.
Interesting, provocative, and to many, quite offensive. The acting is way over the top, but production qualities are okay. And the special FX were on a par with many B movies of the era or even better. There isn't much 'action' as this is more a thought piece. If you're not afraid to have your religious convictions challenged, check it out. I won't promise you'll like it.
As interesting as the movie it accompanies on DVD [Ten (2002)], 10 on Ten is the encapsulation of Kiarostami's view of his art. It's insight into making movies, and, when viewed by other artists, great food for thought. Fascinating.

It's like Speed, but with a star who isn't made of wood - well, not unless it's supposed to be a joke about "wood."But yeah, hard to believe this was on the "Must See" list - action I'd buy.
