the movie is based on a short story written by one of Stephen King's sons which is pretty cool and you can really see some of those elements in this movie.
This movie had so much potential and it just fell flat on its face. They changed so much about it, especially the ending, and with it being a 5-year story with so much happening, it just sucks to see them try to sum it all up in a 70-minute movie.
Fans who did not read it might like it, but it seems since these animated movies are pg13 or r they are more for adults and the fans who read the comics.
to be honest, after all these years, I still do not understand what the point of this movie was. it has a reference to Batman Returns since it shows Selina Kyle, yet it seemed like maybe they were trying to do some multiverse movie.
Maybe nothing more came out of it because of how badly it did at the box office and with reviews.
everyone keeps saying that this movie is like the terminator movies or better than the terminator movies, and neither of these statements is accurate. this movie is more like IRobot, but not as good. It is also not at all like Childs Play whatsoever not even sure why people are comparing them but if you were to the only thing in common is that it's a killer doll, but if that were the case then childs play and dead silence are the same.
it was a good mystery movie and the characters are all a little bit annoying in their own ways, but there is a reason for it. the first one was better which is the case in most films. with these movies, they can make a bunch since there are different plots, and they don't reference the first one in this, but they do reference a case about a murder of a ballerina (knives out 3?)
it's a good movie, but it's just basically the 90th remake of a Christmas carol which they reference in the movie. The songs are okay, but not amazing.
It is in no way a Christmas classic as the comments say. It is more like 6/10.
There are better Christmas classics to see, but if you have seen everything else then why not put this on?
