Possibly the most important film in cinematic history since Lawrence of Arabia and the most important in sci-fi since Star Wars. Its impact has been that huge on the industry.
Pretty well done considering the hurdles. Probably going to remain the standard for all films on Islamic history to come (and I hear they're making a massively expensive new movie on the prophet's life in Qatar as of 2012, so it will be compared to this).
Amazing performance by Daniel Day-Lewis. You not only see Lincoln's humanity but also the appeal of it and how such a man could win the heart of the people.
Some of the rest of it felt a bit forced, as if contemporary ideas of the end of slavery and the civil war were transplanted into that historical setting. Felt a little anachronistic.
