Good movie, but Full Metal Jacket and Platoon made a much bigger impression on me than this one.
I watched it again yesterday, and now I take my statement back. Apocalypse Now is an amazing film that really shows the horrors of war and how it makes people crazy. The music is great, the cinematography is great and there are tons of memorable scenes.
Sad and beautiful movie that’s quite similar to Johnny Got His Gun. It’s about a person who becomes completely paralyzed after a stroke. After that, he can only use his left eye to communicate with the outside world. You really feel along with the main character and it makes you think what it would be like if you were in that situation.
I'm also one of the haters. I feel the same as I did with 2001: A Space Odyssey. This movie is like looking at a vague modern art painting for two and a half hours, while you're trying to find out what the painting is supposed to resemble. I almost fell asleep while watching this. Definitely not my kind of movie.
I was really surprised by this movie. Even though the story isn't really that special, the movie is solid and really enjoyable. And I loved the ending.
A great, entertaining movie from beginning to end. It has strong acting, fun characters and a great plot. The music is also great and at times the movie is really suspenseful.
Yet another excellent Hitchcock movie. It has great plot twists, strong acting (especially Joan Fontaine), it's beautifully shot and the movie has a great mysterious atmosphere.
Great crime thriller. It starts off slow, but gets better towards the end. Gene Hackman has a great role in this movie and the chase sequences are very exciting.
What a boring movie, one of the most boring I've ever seen. This movie has no plot: the only thing that happens is uninteresting small talk by unlikable characters. I really don't understand the high rating on IMDB.
Love this movie. Great camerawork, good special effects and it's pretty funny and suspenseful at times. For some reason, the movie felt realistic to me (although it obviously isn't). Overall, it's just a really fun movie.
I was really skeptic of this movie because of it's age, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable movies I've ever seen. Great cast, great acting, great humour, great dialogues, great plot... I can't say nothing but positive things about this movie.
Good (but not great) movie with an original story, good acting, good suspense and great use of sound effects. It was a bit slow at times, but overall I quite enjoyed it.
Really great movie, one of the most intense movie experiences I've ever had. I got all thirsty during the movie. And when is the last time you can say that a movie physically affected you?
Not a personal favorite of mine, but a great movie nonetheless. Patton is an interesting person who is played brilliantly by George C. Scott. There is rarely a dull moment in Patton, even though the movie is almost 3 hours long.
