Just like every other young adult fantasy book series adapted into a movie. Not very good, incredibly stupid, but it has it's moments. I liked the fight sequences and there were some beautiful shots in other scenes too. The story wasn't great, and even for someone who hasn't read the books, it was obvious that things were missing. Clearly not a very well done adaption, but I mostly enjoyed my time in the cinema. At least when I wasn't embarassed by shiny flowers and sprinklers. And there was Kevin Zegers. Kevin Zegers makes everything worthwhile.
Quite boring and ridiculous like all old horror flicks. I love 80s effects in sci-fi and fantasy films, but in horror they just don't work for me at all. Still, not a bad movie.
Though the plot was made of clichés wrapped in obvious, it was still entertaining and the great actors, action and visuals kept it interesting. Also, I really loved how Raleigh treated Mako, and Mako Raleigh. That was the thing that really made the movie for me.
And then there was that little Aliens reference with Newt.
Painfully obvious from the beginning. I really didn't like Beth as a character, the story was built up with clichés and quite honestly the whole movie just made me a little big angry. I honestly couldn't think of a more generic story. Also, Zac Efron really didn't look like he was playing the piano at all. Had I know it was based on a Nicholas Sparks novel before I started watching, I might not have bothered.
I don't generally speaking like Superman, Henry Cavill or Zack Snyder for that matter, yet I felt compelled to go see this, and actually liked it.
There were some (read: many) things that bothered me a lot. For example, the script was condesending at some points, and at some points just plain stupid. I don't have a problem with the plot, it's just the lines didn't seem like things people would actually say. Also, some scenes were too long.
I liked the beginning, but it felt like the movie had like three of those. I liked the costume design. I liked the casting, even in the supporting roles (I was really invested in Jenny's fear) and even Henry Cavill, with whom I'm now madly in love with. I liked how this showed Superman as a person with emotions instead of an one-dimensional character he's usually seemed to me.
I did not like Zod. He truly was one-dimensional. And boring, and unintimidating. His badass lady side-kick was awesome though. And I didn't like the annoying little things like that one rock that didn't roll remotely like a rock ought to roll.
In the end of the day, I still liked the film and will probably get it on DVD at some point in my life.
Possibly some of the worst CG I've seen, but I still really enjoyed the film. Also, the sci-fi aspect was bit of a surprise as the back of the DVD case mentioned nothing of it. Luckily I like science fiction.
I loved it, though it obviously wasn't perfect. Sometimes things didn't really make all that much sense and the ending was pretty anticlimactic, but I still loved it. It was fun and emotional. Maybe J.J. Abrams did go too far with the lense flare this time. He does have a habit of trying a bit too hard sometimes, I think. Anyway, I found the film beautiful, and the acting was truly wonderful.
I would say it was disappointing but I had seen the trailer and heard things so I didn't really expect much in the first place, I just wanted to see it, because I love The Wizard of Oz and Rachel Weisz.
GC varied from 'cool' to 'what the heck' and the costumes looked like something kids wear on Halloween, both design and quality wise, and the writing wasn't that great either. I must say I did love Rachel Weisz's performance, but I do love her all the time, so...
Anyway, I wasn't bored or hugely embarrassed which is always good.

I only have one problem. Why would they let people return to Britain so soon after such apocalyptic events? Otherwise I did enjoy the movie.Movie comment on Man of Steel
