Loom was shot on RED Epic in 4K 3D in the tone and style of Ridley Scott's dystopian Blade Runner to showcase the prototype 4K REDray 3D laser cinema projector. The piece was crafted to test the limits of the colour range and exposure, allowing viewers to see fine details even in extremely low light scenes.
Loom was written and directed by Luke Scott, son of Ridley Scott.
How isn't this one more popular? A comedy much in the vein of Beverly Hills Cop or 48 Hrs., but much-much funnier than those two films. The chemistry between Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal is spectacular, which is baffling considering they had apparently never met before filming began. Almost every joke works. Their bickering and bantering is priceless. A movie laden with hilarity, along with some good shoot-outs and car chases to boot.
Was this your introduction to George Carlin? Check out Jammin' in New York, You Are All Diseased and Back in Town - three hilarious shows. In fact, almost all of his stuff is just priceless.
Great transgressive cinema. Oddly enough, I thought Drive was much more tedious than this film. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but I found its moodiness, cold atmosphere, the visceral and extreme behavior of its focal characters, and the film's vicious brutality pretty damn endearing.
Most likely my favorite English-language film by N.W.R.

Low budget '80s horror films can be cool sometimes, but this one is highly overrated. Doesn't work as a horror movie nor as a comedy.I am thankful, however, that I didn't happen to see it as a kid - I know for sure it would've scarred me for life.
