TreadwayNathan's link leads to the version with the original soundtrack.
On the other hand there is another version which was mixed by Rory Hannigan that I found a lot better than the original soundtrack. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3iPHvLZJ8Q
It's easy to dismiss this film in modern society since we've all seen a scene in reverse a countless times. The innovation of showing something in reverse back in 1896 marked a turning point in history because it was the first time human beings could percieve an action in reverse.
Though the film gives us hints of themes such as social injustice with its critique on the class system and social conformity, I never really got into it. I have to second jlfitz opinion since I quite honestly found the film a bore.
In the original script Lina was murdered after drinking the poisonous milk but the producers refused it. Hitchcock kept true to the idea that the milk was poisonous by emphasising that she didn't drink the milk.
@ greenhorg that's right, she really wasn't in love with him.
The movie actually makes it clear with the last intertetitles, that says something like "how she lied to Mr. Emerson" just right before she "confesses" her love to George, making it clear she really wasn't in love with him. She was however in love with another man, her brother (as strange as it might sound). Take a closer look at the way she watches her brother constantly and the small hints of sexual tensions whenever she talks about him to her "supposed" lovers, Cecil and George. Take also special notice of how she reacts in the bathing scene and how differently she looks at each one of them. And like you pointed out she seems more interested in the letter from her brother than in her husband in the final scene.
"It should be considered not as a film but as a fact, or perhaps as an object" - Roger Ebert
This definitely one of the worst "objects" (to use Ebert's terminalogy) I've ever seen, grotesque but otherwise absolutely pointless
