Really disturbing description of reality. It doesn't matter what you are and what you do, what it matters is
what people think about you, the realities that they have in their minds, and we hopelessly depend on other people's opinions/perceptions, no matter how much we try to bring up the truth... Gaslighters paradise...
A super-hero movie but with kind-of (super-rich) real people, with emotional high-school-type of problems, driving motorbikes at crazy speed without helmet, getting in love like a teenager (even when they are around 60 years old), and stretching their skin face to pretend they are still young and with several layers of make-up (because looking old is a stigma).
Fighting an anonymous/impersonal enemy and being saved miraculously in the last moment thanks to cheap cliché-coaching advice.
And, of course, at the end America wins.
Very subtile and profound.
The value of this movie is not just that does not give simple answers, but its story also does not give out all the questions. A story that creates many relevant discussion topics.
I was visiting a city, with information about city waste in several places, and saying things like "the best waste is the one that is not created".
After that city trip, I saw this movie in the way back (in the train), and I thought: "why did someone needed to create this movie..."?
Very honest. Showing in first person all their vulnerabilities, traumas and mistakes.
Such transparency and honesty is not at all present in the media nowadays, unfortunately. We need more movies like this.
The ending of this family conflict is worthy to save it in our memories.
People who don't like this movie might be some of the Don't-look-up people.
What a great and brave movie. A new Truman Show in the 2020's.
Beautiful ending (including the one after the credits, which most people missed).
A "John the Baptist" message style, which will be still rejected and ignored by many.
Although, I found quite paradoxical that Netflix - a company making business out of pleasing others, with some brainless entertainment, and creating narratives to push certain worldviews in the society to distract mass audiences from the reality (a.k.a. brain-washing), manipulating our spending patterns into their own benefit -, it is now making a movie that exactly satirizes this same 'business' strategy.
Contrary to the BASH boss predictions, Dr. Randall Mindy did not die alone
Not a new original topic, but framed within an unexpected setting, which gives a very fresh and deeper perspective.
Very good when describing how does it feel empathy.
A challenge for the Non-reductive physicalism ;)
(as someone said in this movie: 'if you doubt about the existence God, listen to Ennio Morricone's music and you will find that it has to be something beyond up there)'
