A phenomenal performance by Peggy Ann Garner. She was great as the younger version of Jane Eyre (with Joan Fontaine) as well.

I will defend this movie till the end of my days. Not so much with Batman & Robin. That was inexcusable.

It seemed like Tobey Maguire was acting in a different movie. Couldn't they get Joseph Gordon Levitt for Nick Carroway or someone else who can act?

There is something I do not like about Tarantino's films so I have been putting off seeing Jackie Brown for some time now. Well, whatever I dislike about his other films (yes, even Pulp Fiction) was absent in Jackie Brown. Best Tarantino.

I have been putting this movie off for a while because I have a difficult time sitting through a 3 hour movie. With the death of Schell is February and never having seen a movie that he starred in, I thought it would be fitting to watch this. This movie is not only amazing in its performances, Montgomery Clift and Judy Garland in brilliant supporting roles, but the story as well. It shows the viewer both sides of the trial and, ultimately, the dangers of unquestioned patriotism.

I've had 16 fights and I won all of them but 12.

It tried its darnedest to be like a sci fi film from the 70s-80 but it failed. It failed pretty bad. Were we suppose to feel compassion for the alien monster? The monster who was killing people and destroying the town, but since it was treated badly is it suppose to be 'awww, poor monster...'

And the ending. Oh dear, the ending. He tried so hard to have an E.T. like ending but, of course, that failed miserably. Cheesy and melodramatic. Abrams, you are no Spielburg and Giacchino is no John Williams (although he does create some rather decent music).

Trish Van Devere was a terrible actress.

I think the early 2000's Woody Allen films get unfairly maligned. This was actually quite good with a great performance by Radha Mitchell.

Not the greatest movie and probably not the best picture of the year but gosh darn it I was entertained. I am not looking at the film as a history lesson either. It is fine as a by the numbers thriller, despite knowing how it was going to end before it even started. 3.5/5

This is nowhere near as great as Olivier's Hamlet.

Too bad they only made two films together. I do agree with the comment below, she did make a better dancing partner than Ginger Rogers. Hayworth and Astaire moved in ways I didn't know was possible.

This wasn't very good at all. The Fredric March version is far superior.

Some of the directorial choices were clunky, but damn did I really like this movie. It would have been great of Russell Crowe wasn't Javert though. His voice wasn't strong enough and he wasn't menacing at all. Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks and the guys of the barricade really made the film come alive.

"Nick Jonas>Eddie Redmayne"

No, just no. Nick Jonas was awful as Marius. He looked clueless and confused while on stage with actors that can actually sing. Redmayne was great.

The implausible ending ruined the entire mediocre film for me. Maybe it is because I am an atheist, I don't know. There are spiritual films I like, even love, but this one, not at all.

Not a fan of Altman, I even gave the highly acclaimed Nashville two stars, but 3 Women is fantastic. Sissy and Shelley are wonderful together.

I couldn't get into this at all although I am not really an Altman fan.

I don't know what it is with Vincente Minnelli. I loved The Band Wagon, I enjoyed The Pirate. I hated An American in Paris and Gigi.
