It would be awesome, quirky movie if it hadn't been a "romance" between a minor and eighty years old. Couldn't they make him being late twenties or something? All plot points could stay the same and his morbid sense of humour would explain why is he still living with and under close watch of his mother, as well as why is he still a bachelor. All could stay the same except him being a minor. And she could still be eighty.
This must be the only Christmas movie about a love between a cat and a human instead of romance or family. Christmas movies are usually like "Until I met you, I was pathetic loser with only my cat to spend Christmas with." or "I only lack a cat to officially be the loneliest person ever." Like, cherish time spent with your cat, they aren't going to be forever in this world, you know.
Another "Single people are miserable" Christmas romantic comedy. And "If you are 'meant' to be together there is absolute nothing you can do about it." + "Your life is defined by your ancestors." Dislike from me.

. I mean, really? Okay, he might be delusional, but he was a researcher, he shouldn't believe that Jesus wrote in Latin letters, especially not in type of handwriting that didn't exist back then. And why
he went to Italy
. in the first place? Shouldn't he go to Israel or something? And research Hebrew script, not Latin? Come on!
And I had read that the movie is about disappearance of the guy revealing some dark family secrets, but
nothing whatsoever was revealed
. I actually liked the movie, but primarily because it was in Slovene and
Italian
, and I wanted to catch up some words. The plot is a big mindscrew.
