My favorite list on ICM, by far. Almost completed it. I would hate it if ICM would reduce this list to, say, 500 entries. I don't get why everybody is complaining. The more movies in official lists, the better. Right? It's more fun this way.
So the public is a horrendous flock...but until the site's admins/supervisors limit this list to an official countdown of top 100, 500, as much as you want box-office hits, include me as half-a-moron who'll watch the rest of it for a platinum award :P
I like this list for the fact that sometimes I just want to sit back and relax and not think too much. A lot of these movies require very little effort, so sometimes it's nice to take a break from all the more serious films that are on this site. Good popcorn flicks deserve a spot on this site too!
Even though I’ve always been a big martial arts movie fan, these (Heavily) CG Chinese blockbusters that continue to pop up in this list are becoming more & more unbearable.
Is anyone really determined to complete this list? This would require one to see ALL animated, super hero, and films based on young adult books released each year through the date of your death.
These lists also need to be capped, once they reach a certain size I just give up. I enjoy this site as it allows a hobby of mine to have some direction/goals/milestones. But if I were to actively attempt to view 600 movies, I feel this hobby would start to venture into the realm of addiction/obsession.
God forbid some of you watch some movies you would never see otherwise. Seeing bad movies is just important as seeing good movies because it gives you a new appreciation. I don't see why this list should ever be capped.
@Jimbo Slice: I've created a collection on criticker of the top 5 grossing movies each year back to 1920 (with a bit of missing data):
http://www.criticker.com/?fl&filter=e33943
of course, the collection is only for US box office, but worldwide box office is impossible do find before around 1980, and it should roughly corroborate.

Disagree. I love this list as it is. It's good way to keep up with movies people will be talking about. What's wrong with having one such list?Battlejayroyale

Mission success!13 old films incoming.
No Dracula for some reason and no Intouchables either due to no US release.

Immortals should be here?!Simply do not understand why some films with over $200m grossed world-wide are not on this list.

33 left. I don't mind this list as much as other people seem to. Granted there are some really crappy movies but oh well.niesl2
Taste, quality and originality don't always matter, this is best list for picking a good popcorn 'n beer-movie for a relaxed evening.tomsalad

We can't call this the "best list ever" or the "worst list ever". The "opinion" factor isn't consequential. This is just a list of movies that made money. It's hard numbers only.
