It's getting harder and harder to watch mainstream US Films. It seems that the all industry is based on sequels, pre-sequels, remakes, TV show versions and so on. Just check top 50 from this list. Very sad

But when we talk about movies between friends, it doesn't happen that we have a portable dvd player in front of me and 2hrs in front of me, so I don't watch it with them. I don't predict what movies I will talk about, for example "Hey it's Saturday night, we will rent Hancock and talk about it after!" Not really, I just go with the flow. I don't have a determined time to talk about movies with friends & family. I don't expect to be able to watch the movie they wanna talk about while driving or at work. And if they are not really very interested in movies, I won't say "you have to watch Nolan's films and Wright's movies", I'll just say "You loved Scott Pilgrim? It's the same guy that made Shaun of the Dead, maybe sometime you could rent it!" and we talk about something else. Anyway, my two cents to say that I'm tired of people saying this is a crappy list. Everyone's opinion on every list.
I've seen a lot of movies on this list, some I've enjoyed, some I've not. But in my movie world the big blockbuster has every right to share space with the Kurosawa film. Doesn't mean they're better.
Cap the list would lead to a Top250/ Top500 list of recent successful movies- better to make this list unofficial again, one Box Office list is enough and the other one is more reliable anyway.
