Based on the Frank Miller comic. Looks good, if at times painterly. And certainly well made, dripping with pure macho essence. If I had a problem with it, it's the voices. The accents are mish-mashed and David Wenham's voiceover sounds like it's coming out of a much older man. Distracting. Still, it's a great, iconic story, at once fun and tragic. The idea that this was a war between reason and superstition is historical fallacy, but makes for a great theme.

Fun movie but historically inaccurate. The battle consisted of only 300 Spartans AS WELL AS 7100 other Greek city soldiers from different city states. This only focuses on the Spartans but makes it out as if 300 really beat 1 million. It was against 100 thousand Persians by the way and only several thousand could fit and go in at a time....

A bunch of greased up half-naked and very buff guys battling it out in slo-mo. Tom of Finland would have loved this!

I question anyone who says that 300 has a great story and their understanding of the word.

A bit too much testosteron for my liking but my god, what an incredible movie. Fantastic tale, visually absolutely stunning and great acting from everyone.

It’s one of those epic movies that you have to see at the very least once in your life. Great one.

I didn't like the colouring at all, but otherwise I might say it's the best of Snyder's movies.

Good movie! Really appealing, distinctive visual style, nice colors, lots of action and fights, lots of ripped men :)

Liked Gerard Butler and Michael Fassbender. An unusual movie that was worth watching, although I did not expect it.

The story is true but, of course, it was embellished. The biggest lie was that the Spartans survived... Xerxes used the alternative path and slayed all the Spartans.
PS: Martial Arts? Really???

[5/10] First off, the trailer was way better than the movie itself. When 300 came out, the makers were quite boastful about it's CGI cinematography, even though the whole thing wasn't all that breath-taking[Yes,I watched it on the IMAX screen]. 300 sure had some bad dialogue act,i t surely made me feel I was watching a WWE event and two professional wrestlers are in the middle of a loud-mouthed feud, the acting was that good and also that bad!! I appreciated this movie up to a certain level just because the makers at least cared to stick to the original theme of Frank Miller's work. Unlike 'Sin City', 300 has got so much more adrenaline rush that it will pop the veins in your body and also very less character development when compared with 'Sin City' [Again, another work by Frank Miller]. The lesson in 300 is that the Spartans are free, and the Persians are slaves, although the Spartan's idea of freedom is not appetizing at all!!(Children are beaten to toughen them). I was highly disappointed with this flick. [5/10]
