He probably won’t receive as much praise as he should but McAvoy deserves a lot of credit for his performance(s). Seeing him instantly transform into such distinctly different characters was a joy to watch!
Pacing- and stylewise very akin to Unbreakable. If you go in expecting superhero showdown Avengers-style, you will be sorely disappointed. I mostly liked it even though I was surprised about a lot of the elements.
And as 'tomsalad' said, James McAvoy is just magnificent. Absolute powerhouse performance, a joy to watch. One moment menacingly serious, the next comically silly. Just incredible acting.
90% of a good movie. Couple of big things keeping it from being great. It wasn't what I necessarily wanted as an ending to this trilogy, but what we got is mostly good.
Glass is, I think, of a piece with Unbreakable and Split, and I liked it fine as the end of a trilogy. It's not perfect - some of the dialog is odd, it kind of goes on after another movie would have ended, and some will bristle at the corruption of heroic stories' usual triumphalism - but I still think critics have been entirely too mean with it. I don't know what they're expecting from M. Night Shyamalan, frankly. He can be brilliant visually and in short bursts, but his plots have always been wonky. If you've come to this thing to see James McAvoy having a grand old time playing 24 characters, or Mr. Glass thinking several steps ahead of everyone, or the cast of Unbreakable returning, then I can't see you being too disappointed. It's interesting that when Unbreakable's grounded (even hidden) vision of superhero stories came out, it was kind of in line with what was being doing at the time - studios just didn't believe people would buy into the crazy comic book stuff - but Glass, made almost 20 years later, feels like a tonal twist on what's become a blockbuster formula. Now that we know what a superhero movie looks like, we can have movies like this and Brightburn. Except we already did, 19 years ago, it's all coming back full circle.
This is a hot mess. Shymalan confirms that whatever he had at the beginning of his career is no longer with him. Tiny flickers of brilliant ideas show their head here and there throughout this conclusion but as a whole this is a sloppy conclusion to a sloppy attempt at creating a cinematic universe years after the fact. Split was a slightly above average thriller that was elevated immensely by its tie in with Unbreakbale however noe that this conclusion is confirmed to be a dud it lessens the notion that Split was ever a true return to form and it reveals it as more of a sad exploitation of the directors bekoved earlier work in the attempts to revive his reputation as a filmmaker.
6 + / 10
I'm split (hehe). It is a professional production without a doubt, but there are some things missing, the feeling, which nevertheless makes the grade land on 6+ - thanks in large part to good acting. It probably would have helped if you had seen Unbreakable (2001) again before. Exciting uninterrupted, but I find the end having a too weak climax.
Loved it... although was disappointed with the ending... just my opinion. James McAvoy was absolutely brilliant as Kevin and his multiple personalities.. he was a joy to watch, such talent. Samuel L. Jackson is always amazing and it was a shame
Mr. Glass met his end,
he had so much potential for a new super-villain series.
Just watched the trilogy and ... what's that? I don't know. A collage of a something about comics and so. I am not sure what i've watched but it was pretty silly. Last episode even worst than the rest. Split in a way more original because of main actor able to switch between characters that is remarkable. But besides that, wouldn't recommend it
Literally the worst possible way this trilogy could have ended. Extreme overuse of James McAvoy, which makes sense since they don’t have a sustainable plot to save their lives. They had three of the most talented actors together in the same movie and this is what they came up with? Couldn’t keep my eyes open, boring, no suspense what so ever. Not superhero-like as Unbreakable was, neither dark with creepy chills as Split. This movie is an abomination.

Enjoyable until the end, which killed the whole film for me.radoslav1948

You can tell this is Shyamalan's passion project, but he works better under pressure from directors and others. Not a bad film. It's a universe I was interested in. A bit underwhelming, but perhaps more realistic than say X-men.

This movie proves exactly what “Split” was missing: Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis.GreyDragons

Ironically, this is exactly the way I felt on each every movie of this trilogy.
