Song Kang Ho is insanely good in this.

A cracking and different piece of Korean cinema.-

Worth watching just for the hilariously B-grade, over-the-top chase scene.

I will add another ''underwhelming'' comment. Kim Jee-woon is in top 3 Asian directors, that's for sure. He can do action, drama, thriller and horror equally effective (even though i would like him to return to psychological stuff like Two Sisters and Memories).
This film is nicely balanced in terms of humor and seriousness. Also there are even some dark moments. For some reason i expected it to be very goofy. It is certainly better in pretty much every way (except music) than Leone's stale tiresome outdated version.

Still, this is Kim's weakest film, along with boring Foul King.
I will also not share fascination about Kang-ho Song with many of you. He is interesting enough, but let's not kid ourselves... Byung-hun Lee is the real star.
Third guy is not bad, but little on the bland side.

Any movie that features a galloping horse rider swinging a flail viciously at the driver of a speeding jeep while a fully armed military rains artillery shells down around them to the tune of 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' deserves a favourite on principle alone.

Seen some reviews saying "koreans" know how to better portray the american west, better then the americans do.

I disagree but I agree they make better movies.
This movie was a example, it has a good plot & good character's you can equally like.

Worth watching.

The good, the bad and the ugly Korean style. The story is wellknown, so nothing new in that department.

Nice camerawork, likeable characters, entertaining.

The Good, the Bad, the Weird is an "oriental western" by Korean director Kim Jee-Woon and boy, what an entertainment! Colorful, stylish and filled with action and humor, it tracks its three competing protagonists on an ill-advised treasure hunt in the Chinese desert in whatever time period you want it to be (there's an extreme mix of mongol barbarians, cowboys and Japanese army jeeps). There's one action sequence that goes on too long, but even when that happens, there's a fun soundtrack to keep you company.

Brilliant movie. Yea it was formulaic, but it ups the ante a lot. Definitely stands toe to toe with The Good The Bad and The Ugly and comes out better on some points. The cinematography and the camera work are great as is the acting and the action.
