The odd good one-liner but apart from that this rather dated comedy ranks among Wilder's weaker efforts.

Agree the material does not stand the test of time, and the plot seems lifted straight out of a sitcom. But it's worth the price of admission just to see Cagney's tour de force comedic performance in the third act.

The fact that this movie is considered among Wilder’s weakest films says a lot about his talent. I simply adore it.

Oh my God, this movie is soooo underrated. This should be on like 20 official lists.

I agree with the previous comments -- this movie is deliriously funny and deserves much wider recognition.

Hilarious! I actually love the "dated" comedy - the communists, capitalist, and the odd German joke. It's so fast-moving, too, in the end. Fantastic!
