I dunno, maybe there's something wrong with me, but I really enjoyed this. Say what you want about old mate W. S., but he directs brainless guilty pleasure action movies with a style and energy that few can match, and the gulf in quality between this and the previous two installments helmed by different directors is a testament to that. Sure this film is derivative (why not just call the antagonist 'Agent Smith With Tentacles' and be done with it?), and very, very stupid, but I fail to see why that should stop anyone from enjoying it. My only problems were the underwhelming finale and the fact that Wentworth Miller didn't have the prison escape plan tattooed on his chest, but judged for what it is I think this is definitely a good movie, and possibly even a great one.

How can The Axeman move with the ax behind him into the prison and to the showers without being heard or seen by neither Alice, Claire nor Chris?

The movie is easy to hate, but scenes like these are so foolish that it hurts.

Utter waste of time, unless you're writing a paper on bad movies or on how many movies can be plagiarized down to the frame in a few minutes.

After four Resident Evil movies, I suddenly GET IT. These are the Millennium's equivalent of the Saturday matinée serial. The structure is simple: We go from threat to solution to threat to solution, over and over, up to and including the cliffhanger endings of each film, never stopping for long to get to know the characters. Somebody could chop up the entire saga, put a bit of vintage production on top, and show it in installments. For example, Extinction had ended on a crazy cliffhanger, and resolves it in Afterlife's first sequence, then we're off on the next adventure. Threat-resolve, threat-resolve, until the end (and we end on threat, resolve to come in Part 5). So in this one, Alice and Claire join a group of survivors trapped in a Los Angeles prison, including pre-Captain Cold Wentworth Miller (type-cast as a dude trapped in a prison), get involved in ridiculous stunt and fight gags that had me laughing out loud (it's a win), and trying to find the Promised Land free of infection. Embracing its place as B-movie trash, it apes The Matrix more than 10 years on, with the villain channeling Agent Smith, and bullet time effects. Why not? Set brain to crazy mode and enjoy.

plain bullshit... What the whole franchise tells me is that no matter how many movies they're gonna make, Umbrella won't ever go down and neither will Alice. They're just gonna keep making these abominations while survivors and Umbrella employees (bosses, soldiers, what ever...) just going to keep popping up out of thin air.

The most enjoyable to me was the 3rd one, and i guess the 3d on this movie must've looked awesome, but besides that there's nothing more to expect than lots of zombies and shitty plots for the next few sequels (which will probably keep coming)

Parts 1 through 3 range between "okay" and "good", but this one is pretty much bad (but nowhere near as bad as Uwe Boll's creations which I have a hard time actually watching all the way through). Unfortunately, it has very little going for it. The series either needs to end or needs a real change in at least the story. There's not a lot of progression through each of the movies in the series. Perhaps a well made (at least as good as the first movie) prequel?

Fun movie.
A lot of action, gunfire, zombies, etc.
Why do zombies always walk so funny, while zomby-dogs can run and jump?
I love this type of movies. Anyone have an advice for me?

This isn't a good action movie. The first half is pretty boring and I was dozing off more than once.

This is actually a pretty good actionmovie. It's got zombies, a lot of guns, a lot of explosions AND Milla Jovovich. What else could anyone ask for in a popcornmovie?

it´s a waste of time. the ending of the previous movie is barely likely to this entire film.

It takes the action direction just like the recent games.

Take it easy guys, it's an action movie, and a good one as such. Through all of the movies, they have clearly gone in that direction, it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
